The Three Keys!

1. A Catalyst Event:

Sir Layton Riddle was a member of a King’s central intelligence organization, where he specialized in identifying and solving puzzles.

One day; whilst solving a puzzling murder case, he uncovered the truth about numerous cover ups that all implicated the King’s brother. He hurried to his commanding officer to inform him of this revelation. He was shocked to see his colleagues and commander turn against him in solidarity as the King’s brother appeared behind him.

Layton was brought before the King and denounced as a traitor and stripped of his titles. He was detained in a cell overnight before his public exile the following morning. During the night, he was visited by a woman named Layla Ferrous; the widow of the victim of the original murder case, who brought with her documents and additional evidence after suspecting the King’s Brother herself. She managed to release Layton from his cell and they escaped together.

Just as dawn broke; the guards caught onto their escape and Layla ran off separate from Layton to ensure his escape. She told him to meet with Hershel to expose the truth and restore his reputation.

2. The Familiar Face:

Hershel Cryptward - An excellent professor in the college that Layton studied at, Hershel identified Layton’s aptitude early on in his career and guided him towards success. It was Hershel who introduced the Ferrous case to Layton the week prior to the above events.

3. An Initial Goal:

Layton paid for information at a bar in a small town and was told about an older gentleman who was investigating mysterious disappearances in a nearby city. He believes this man could be Hershel or might at least lead him in the right direction.
